I had a S/C'd S that was putting down 308 whp before a shop messed it up. I now have an STi that put down 280 whp. I know for a fact that the my STi would murder a S/C'd S from any lower rate of speed but not sure on the top end. That's where the S really had the uumpphhhh! My STi has an APS top mount intercooler, APS 3" tbe, Walbro 255 fuel pump, drop in filter and the ECUTek reflash. I am hoping to have 330-350 whp on pump gas (91) next week with the APS SR50 turbo, 770cc injectors and another reflash. Once that goes in, I really think it will walk away from the S/C'd S's. The S is so much more fun to drive, even in stock form. So many people rev on me in regards to the huge spoiler. I just laugh and let them beat me. I will let you guys know how I run with the boosted S2K's after next weekend (megameet) when we are out in the middle of nowhere in the desert. I will have another S with in a year from now.

From what Ive read on the forums that seems about right . Since other people have stated that a stock evo looses power in the higher rpm range on the freeway due to the ecu lowering the boost for reliability issues. Can anyone comfirm this or am I just talking b/s.
This is what im wondering...what do people consider top end? I'll say it again, when we raced our bone stock Evo and our S2K, with the S2K getting the initial jump (20mph roll or so) The Evo caught the S by 4th gear and started to pull away at about 120 mph. Now with just the catback and filter the Evo pull's easier on the S. I just think its funny when people say they fall flat on their face after 100mph, lol...I dont know, but the Evo doesnt take much time to go from 100-140 or at least it doesnt seem like it does.

LOL, im not saying all outcomes will be the same, too may conditions. But that is just our experience.

Actually last weekend I tried to race an 04 on the Freeway, I was cruising in the middle lane on the freeway and he came up in the slow lane. I paced him for a bit, then downshifted, lol, I know he heard my rpms go up (he had his window down) but he just kept looking straight, he wouldnt budge, then he eventually pulled off the freeway. Dammit, I wanted an unbiased race against an S on the freeway

I raced a modded Evo before on the freeway and it fast it was pulling on me for bit but I was ahead the whole time. I could see the Evo pulling slowly but at higher speed it seem the Evo started to fall back. That was bone stock though I don't know how it is now.
I can't believe the guy in the Evo was trying to catch you if he had any appreciable mods, unless of course you are heavily modded, ie supercahrger, etc. Wiyth just flash and exhausts the Evo comes alive considerably, 25-40 more WHP.

1st. My car is SC and 4.57 gears. I raced one that was bone stock and ran away from it 2 cars from 60 to 130. I raced my bud with the 430 h.p. kit and he only pulled me by half of a car. He said he was going to smoke me.

I have raced a few Impreza on the highway before, never from the stop tho!!
I am SC'd with aftercooler... I could walk away from the stock STi and most of slightly modded STi. However, I believe a well modded STi will put us in shame tho!

Hey Demon, when you say you run a SC, which one are you talking about? Also any other mods or upgrade under the hood? Thanks!

I'm curious cause I have a buddy with a STI always talking shit, so I guess with a little right mod hopefully I can shut his ass up! Thanks again!

Not worth trying it. The s2k and STI are such different cars. The STI will pull on you on the highway up to 100 mph. Anything faster than 100mph and its all gearing. I don't know who would win after that and not worth trying to find out either. Not safe.
