i raced one last night, sort of, he started pacing me, and i didn't want to race him cause c'mon its a sti 300hp 300tq, but i was close to my exit so i figure oh well lets see how bad i loose, well i was goin around 90 dropped it to 4th tapped on the gas to make my car jump forward to let him know alright i'm game, did that like 3 times so i finally gunned it, i prolly got the jump, and i just kept goin to and i never saw him next to me, til i stopped accelerating then he flew by, then i got off cause i missed my exit, not sure his mods, or if he was sleeping, but if anything he did try to catch up, i got header and exhaust, but like i said who knows maybe he wasn't tryin or something, but he did fly by at over 100mph

Here is my question:

In comparisons with the S and Evo, some state that with the drivetrain loss and other factors, the S can either stay with or slightly pull on an Evo (both stock of course) in the triple digit area when racing on the highway. Although I have yet to test this myself, it seems that it is a close race regardless.

Now, the Evo and STI are often compared, most saying the two are similar in speed (STI being slightly faster). Now, I would think the STI would stomp an S (again, both stock), but if what I hear about the S vs Evo and Evo vs STI, wouldn't it be a bit closer or does the STI truly rock the S's world?

Love all 3 cars!!

NOTE: My purpose is not to start an argument over the mentioned cars or the "rumors" on the internet. I'm just stating what I feel is accurate or partially true. Thanks!
"Can" is the key word. We got a member on this forum who has both the S2000 and the Evo. They reported many times that when raced stock for stock, the S2000 never kept up at all, at any speeds.

I had an encounter with a Sti on the highway. 75-130mph. I had a passenger and he was by himself. Started out with about 2 car length ahead of him. He reeled me in slowly. and then passed me @ 130mph, that's when I let off.

I only have the RSR exhaust.

In my firsthand expierience the STi will walk the S2000 even in the highway speeds. I don't think the STi has the lack of top-end that people say the Evo has, or as much. I remember when I drove the car home 3 hours from the dealer on the highway, I was wondering what people were talking about in regards to a lack of top end.

I drove 3 hrs from the dealer when I first got the STi too, but I didn't test out the top end until 1 month later. I babied it until 1k miles. But it was fun pulling on riced out civics on the highway and I was at no more than 3/4 throttle and shifting at 4k rpm.
