Default s2k vs new 5series

I was driving home last night and a black 5 series past me on 95 north. As he past me i decided to keep up with him, not passing or anything like that. Once we were heading down a two lane highway with lights. I was the first one at the light and he was right behind me.(for some reason he didn't get into the lane to my left.)
Any was give it a good run up to about 65 then let off the gas. I must say he pulled on him a little but those cars are pretty fast. Once i hit 65 he did a drive by, we both waved anded headed home.

I knew the 5 series were fast but I was suprised i didn't pull on it more then i did.

Your story is a bit confusing. Which 5 series? 530? 545? The 545 does a quarter in 13.7 @102. If it was that car then he most likely backed off the throttle so he wouldn't ram you. You "raced" to 65 mph and were surprised you didn't pull on him more? Doesn't getting to 65 only take about 6 seconds? Do I sound angry? I don't mean to.

Sorry i ment i pulled on him. Im not sure what model it was because it was dark. Nah you don't sound mean. The only reason i say i was suprised is because i am able to pull more on the slightly older models. I'm guessing they beefed this years model?

I also say i was suprised because he was behind me instead of on the side.

I pulled on a 540 before. He must have not wanted to play. We took it to 120mph. My S was grunting like crazy that it must have scared the shit out of the bimmer.

Could easily have been a base model 525 (185hp). I see many of these around. I'm guessing the buyers of this model probably see it as a better step up from a 3 series if you just want more room.

Maybe it was 530i. Were you able to tell if he was stick, smg or auto?

The 5 series has too many options...

I don't think it has SMG either...

But they have auto/stick versions on all their engine choices (25/30/45).
