S2K vs. Mach 1 Mustang
#21
From what i've seen, they do around 100-103. Thats right around where the S2000 is. We raced to around 120 i believe.

Running a 103 in a Mach 1 is like running a 97 in an S2k, decent but certainly not indicative of the cars full potential... I'd say the bell curve on each car is 96-101 for the S2k, and 100-106 for the Mach.. For anything outside that range, something other than the car is causing it...

You will never see a stock S2000 trap at 103mph...it's more common for them to trap in 98-99mph range than 100-101 range.
LOL, i get it set, it says go, i take it to 7500, and let her fly, in hopes it bites, it does, and i spin hard all of first, yank 2nd, it slips a bit, pull 3rd, slips again, and soft foot 4th. it clicks up, 13.95 @ 104.4 mph. i have a stock 04, with an AEM v2. THATS IT. and im in vegas, everyone runs 7 tenths slower here than at sea level. now add that up. so is this to say that im good for 13.20's. or quicker with more parts, dont know. we shall see. trust me, im not afraid to post vids and such of all this. its comin. im gonna rip up LACR soon and see what this bad girl has in it. ill post the vids of that.

SOrry to pop the bubble, but the gtech is NOTORIOUS for giving you trap speeds a good 3-4mph higher than what they should be.
Youve got a 100-ish trapping car, right what I expected. And no ammount of convulted bullshit is going to explain away you pulling cars that trap 5-10mph higher from a roll. Anything can happen on the street, and you seem to have been lucky so far, but thats all there is to it.
Sorry pal, I call it like I see it.

A local Mustang club had a track rental at Norwalk Raceway.
There were 7 Mach 1's there...one was running 11.8's@116 on BFG DR's with a 100 shot of n2o. The rest were na and they ran from 13.0's@107-108 - 13.4's@104-105...ALL OF THEM...GET IT.
Any one that ever..EVER...attempts to pass G-tech times off as legit times is delusional. I have had many G-techs over the years...some are as high as 8 MPH HIGH...seriously.
My Lightning runs 12.6's@108...and I would not ever be worried about racing a car that runs basically low 14's@98-100 with a good driver from a roll or a stop. Your friends car is in need of a tune or he bs'd you.

I raced a Mach 1 from behind (he was 2 other Mustangs) from a dig. I had 2 hit my brakes twice and eventually passed him, I had a passenger he had none. He challenged me before, now he was embarassed. I wasn't impressed with the Mach's, but then again I am far from stock.
