s2k vs 350z
I was cruisin down granville in vancouver one day when this guy driving a 350z convertible on what seemed like 20 inch chrome rims comes up behind me. I was on the left lane and i think he wanted me to speed up so he could pass everyone, but there was a police cruiser 3-4 cars in front of me so i didnt wanna speed. This moron starts tailgating me for like 2 blocks. Finally, the cop turns off and the Z car goes beside me, instead of speeding up he just cruised beside me eyein me down like he was hot shit, we both did some maneuvering to get in front of traffic just to hit a red light. Now this guy had a pretty pimped out ride, black 350z Dropped and sitting on chromes. Granville has 3 lanes, i was in the very left and he was on the very right, he didnt see this coming but the very right lane has a lot of huge messed up bumps. at the green we both dropped the clutch and booked it. i immediately cut off the car in the center lane and got right next to the Z car. We were almost parallel in 2nd gear until I hit 6000 rpm and my Vtec kicked in, after, i jes saw his car get smaller in my rear view mirror. And also while we were booking it, he kept trying to pass me but he couldnt and he was going so fast on the right lane his car just kept bottoming out and messing up his kit! HAH! Goof!

While I don't doubt our S can beat a Z if driven properly because many including myself have done it, the race doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
You said you were even in second gear until you hit 6k and Vtec and then left him behind. But, if you dropped the clutch in 1st and continued to rev, you should never have been under 6k in 2nd gear.
Maybe poor driving, but when I race I take each gear up to 9k, shift and always stay in vtec.
