Well the stang fanatics I know said they can't get them any less than MSRP. I know one guy who went to check out the GT vert and they told him it would be $45K. He went and got a new vette!

In my area code, edmunds says the premium GT vert is averaging $31,420...That's about $2,000 more than I just got my S2000 for!

Of course the coupe is cheaper and may run 1/2 second faster in the 1/4 mile than the vert...
Yeah I was talking about the coupe. They're at $27k I believe

straight line is the only thing it can do.
that's not what the people who've actually drive the car are saying. But I'll take your word for it :/

ran an 05gt stang the other day, maybe about 5 times. a few off the lines and a few rolling from 30? off the line i would easily take.. (probably his bad driving skills) and from rolling.. i would inch away at around 70-90. he also had no plates.. first time running his car maybe..

69 BOSS 429 is a true muscle car. Pure brute power and performance. The others are just something to boost sales.
they tested like 10 muscle cars against eachother in various categories and the 429 Boss only turned 13.8 1/4 mile times. im sure people have gotten them to go faster than that, but i was disappointed.

The 99-2004 GT was a drivers race with S2000s, the new one weighs the same and has ~40 more horsepower. How again is it still a drivers race? In my experience, the 99-2004 5-speed Mustang GT coupe is going to win against the overwhelming majority of S2000 drivers. The occasional S2000 driver might win against an inexperienced driver in a 99-04 GT, but then you are talking driver beating driver, not car vs. car. Add 40 hp to the GT, and the S2000 is going to get walked by auto vert Mustang GTs.
That's just silly to say it's the same car +40 HP! First of all, it now shares a chasis with Lincolns! And the weight is different!

And before you go generalizing the majority of S2000 owners remember they care about other things than drag racing...unlike stang owners... They may not care to waste their clutch everytime you are stopped next to them. Car for car though, it's hard to see anyone justifiably saying the new GT is faster!

PS. Did you see the slalom speeds?

i ran an '05 coupe and i was with him from 25+. definitely a drivers race.

the power/weight ratios are just about even, in the S' favor if i did my math correctly.
