^ Thank you. The DSG tranny MkV is very heavy, that transmission is physically HUGE and has twice the amount of gears in it as a regular tranny, basically two complete gearboxes with two clutches and two flywheels. Its performance is amazing, but it comes at a weight cost.
The regular manual tranny MkV GTI 2.0T weighs in the high 2800's

they were only made for the 04' model year, so if you can find one they usually go for low 20's. most have around 40k on em.

The R32 has a serious advantage. Aero wise they are probobly pretty close. S2K doesnt have great aero. The R32 has the drivetrain advantage because at freeway speeds in a straight line the car is 100% FWD so there are minimal loses. They work decent. Just kinda oinky (heavy).

low 20's isnt really likely even with 40k miles. most R's still go for 30-28k

There was a USED one with like 32k miles on it at a local dealer here, they wanted something like 32k for it! It sat on their lot for over a year. It's not there anymore, not sure if they found a sucker at that price or dropped the price and finally sold it or what. But 32k for that car with those miles was completely outrageous imo. I mean isnt that right around what msrp was for a brand new one?

yes.. you get raped in the used market. I have no freaking clue why anyone would buy a used R32 for 32k. If you want AWD & performance, you get a brand new EVO for less. If you want a mix of comfort and performance, you buy a used e46 M3 coupe with 35-45k miles.. both of which would hand the R32 its behind.
