You should have pulled more than that on him. You should have been in 3rd gear going from 70mph too if Im not mistaken.
well it sounds like the .:R was modded so its an expected result

Stock R's sound like they have aftermarket exhausts, because from the factory there is a muffer bypass valve that opens once you're past 45mph. Past 3rd gear, it's pretty loud.

Lots of us R32 owners rewire the solenoid so we can manually control that valve and have it be loud all the time or quiet when we like it. I've got a switch on my dash that gives me three control options: loud, quiet, or stock ECU control.

Sounds like a stock R32 to me. Stock they put down 214awhp/210awtq, very similar power output to a stock S2k.

Modded it would have pulled harder on you, especially past 100mph. With just a chip and intake my R32 puts down 246awhp, which works out to around 280 crank hp, 240awtq with 90% of that available from 2000rpms to 7200rpms. I regularly destroy modded twin turbo Audi S4s on the freeway, just got handed my first loss to one of those a couple weeks ago by one that's putting down 330awhp. And the only loss I've had to an S2k was to Liem in his old turbo S2k.

Good run!

btw there are lots of poseur R32s out there. 1.8t GTI's and Golfs with body kits. Usually you can tell a real one from the dual exhaust but there are some GTI's putting on dual wannabe exhausts now, but if you're behind it, you can see the rear differential clearly on a real R32.

Thanks, it's a fun grocery getter. Does really nicely at Streets of Willow too.

If I could afford to have both the R and an S2k in my garage, I'd have a pretty hard choice every morning of what to drive.

i was thinking Evo9/MS6 for when a baby comes and the s2k has got to go, but now i have my heart set on a graphite grey(?) .:R. dumped on black fat fives, I/APR chip and baby on board window cling.

fat fives really slow the car down. Try some Monte Carlos

But I've got two baby seats in the back and they fit nicely, good little family mobile.
