its because you probably started really low in 2nd gear you didn't pull as much as expected. (he most likely was in first gear.)

Just use my "follow me to the road coarse" line, it shuts em up real quick.
or my "lets head for the mountains"

I have only raced two cars with the S, since I have had it:

-the one my dad and I were cruising and had a 04 Mustang Cobra pull beside us and rev, just as we were catching a red light. My dad got all excited and wanted me to race him . I explained that we would get killed, but figured I would do it anyway, just to make him happy. Sure enough we rolled out in 1st gear and by 95 mph he had a bus length on me. I knew I would get killed, but damn I thought it would be a bit closer

-the other was a modded rsx type S (I/rh/e, reflash, and clutch and flywheel), I was only able to put a couple of lengths on him by 100 from a 1st gear roll.

So yeah, this thing is not a drag racing beast at all, but that is not at all why I bought it.

It may be slower than my K-swap civic, but I did not get nearly as many positive looks and the respect I get driving the S2K.

^The RSX-S with all those mods should have beat you if the driver of it knew how to drive.

I think the S is good in the straight for a 4cyl non FI. it does like what 14s stock not bad. But it was meant for the twisties. But i love mine for the looks the driver feel with the car and just the sheer factor its a RWD Honda that i can take the top off and DD it and take it to the track all in the same day

doubtful .

Before I bought the S2k I had a K20a2 swapped EM2 civic with basically the same exact mods, except I had K-pro that had been through some great tuning. I made 201whp/151 trq on a Mustang Dyno, on that same dyno stock S2ks make around 210whp/145trq, so I am doubtful that with just the reflash he was over 200whp, more realistically 190ish and 140ish torque. A type S weighs a bit less than an S2k, but he did have a passenger (maybe I forgot to mention that ), however he had some carbon fiber parts and what were likely lighter rims, so call it even on weight. Even so I still had 15-20whp on him, so I would say the outcome was realistic.

We went twice, the 1st time I actually messed up and he took 2 cars right away. 1st through 3rd were pretty even, but once I shifted into 4th I started pulling, but could not catch back up before I let off because it was getting to fast. The 2nd time we both got good starts, and 1st through 3rd was pretty close, I pulled maybe a car, the big difference was once I shifted into 4th. I would say it was a drivers race, because an error on my part was big on the 1st race.

Now my EM2 civic was around 300lbs lighter than the type S and had a quaife, so it could hook up alot better
