Default s2k near disappointments?

Ever been driving and have some little civic or something try to race you? I had this '93 Integra drive beside me and I took off on him. He was like two and half cars behind, but I think it should have been further :/ He had LS vtec but still... I beat him from the bottom of 2nd gear cuz I didn't realize he was trying to race me at first. My MY02 is completely stock

What do you guys think?

Be prepared to be highly disappointed very soon. There are so many STOCK cars and modified shit boxes that will smoke us in a drag race. You bought the wrong car if you want to win drag races. A while back I went to the carwash and some kids were egging me on to race their civic for cash. I laughed at them and told them to follow me to the road coarse. I am not a fool, their busted ass turbo civic would have pulled bus lengths on me in a straight. Get used to it, I recommend you research local autocross events and find out what the car was built for.. TURNS.

yeah. you could have just looked up the 0-60 and qtr mile times on a stock S2000 before buying one and finding out the hard way.. you could also hit em with their own medicine.. drop in a turbo and blow doors off everyone you see. There's a video on youtube of the S2K from Hell.. 701HP beating 600 and 1000cc bikes in a straight line.

Both you guys are right. I'm not even into drag racing....I'll take a track over a strip any and every day. I also knew, before I bought the car, that the torque wasn't too crazy. It's just the fact that a "shit box" actually came close. I'll stay away from that drag racing shit...s2000 owners cant afford speeding tickets and insurance hikes anyway

Just use my "follow me to the road coarse" line, it shuts em up real quick.

I narrowly beat a 96-00 Civic Coupe w/ H22 swap in my S2000 when I was NA. My first race w/ a supercharger was against a huge turbo diesel truck and we ran dead even from 70-130, which was quite disappointing, haha.

as an owner of one of those shitboxes 21337R was talking about and an ap1 you'd better watch which civics you race, some look like they've been left to die (like mine)
and blow your doors off

if you want to race stick to autox and a roadcoarse

Man don't be disappointed for keeping up with those big turbo diesel trucks. I have a buddy with one that is only lightly modded with a open exhaust, and ECU. It makes 600hp and nearly 1000 ft-lbs torque when the boost is turned up

That is silly. Another with 4x4 and four drag radials on it trapped a 9.92 ET at our local 1/4 mi dragstrip. I guess what I am saying is that if the truck was belching loads of black smoke and loud enough to hear the turbo spooling up, we are lucky just to stay even with it, lol.
