so one night my buddies and i decide to go do a "off the line run til you redline every gear you got" run and it was the sickest thing ever!! i have a stock s2k and my buddies have stock srt4 and wrx, semi modified wrx and pretty heavily modified rx7(FD)! so we decide to go onto a toll road that is always empty late at night! we get there and we all line it up! we have one of our buddies in a regular neon do the honers! we all mash on the pedals and what do you know, the wrx's get the launch and the lead! followed by me and the srt4! our buddy in the rx7 actually waits while we take off!! im doing 9k every gear mashing on the pedal and im pulling on the srt4 and catching up to the wrx's like in 4th gear! in 5th gear im like at 130 or so and the wrx's start slowing down while i keep going and im thinking i got this, but i forgot about the rx7. when out of nowhere it pulls up next to me and is playing with me. so once again i mash and i pull like at 145! he waits a bit than he mashes and flys right by me in his extremely long 4th gear like if i was standing still! he pulls me by like 10 cars before he shifts and the biggest most orange flame ive ever seen just comes out of his exhaust and hes still pulling!! i got spanked like ive never have been before! it was quite amazing! and he did it all on his new 18'! we pull over and he says he was redlining past 9k and he hit like 180+!! damn those 1.3 rotary vehicles and their seemigly never ending redline!! great run, but ill never do it again!

stevec, I beat you to this one! I call a flag on that phrase....considering the only time I've gotten even close TO 145 I had to have it "mashed" just to get there....and it took quite a while. There's no nitrous buttons in our cars.

I've only had mine up to 136, and by the time I got there I was about asleep. Seriously though, the S is fast, but it's not THAT fast. Sounds like some exciting runs though.

Dunno....I have had mine to 145 without too much sweat....was there before I even new it from a 80mph dump. I have no idea why you can't hit it.

Hmmm. ... I did have my top down, does that count for something. I don't try top speed runs very often, but 136 was fast enough for me.

are you guys kidding me, my speedo read 163 down the 241 toll road near irvine. Ive had it up to 155 countless times.

i thought with stock gears you only had enough gearing for 152?!

anywho, on a side point, i raced a wrx the other day and beat him off the line and through the first 3 gears. maybe the guy that raced me bogged it or something?

I don't know what speedo errors are like for the S, but Indicated should be quite a bit off from actual speed at 155 or so. I've hit 163 indicated on my VFR, but probably barely broke 150 actual, if that.
