Actually, that would make it twice the "only a couple hundred pounds...", meaning at least 400 lbs.
Curious, have you weighed your S2k? Scott's AP2 was a ripe 2960 when we weighed it here... that does put it at a couple hundred pound difference.

thats pretty light for an S with someone in the car. i thought they were like 283Xlbs. with no driver and i doubt you're 11Xlbs.

that would mean if you're 180, your S weighs 2765lbs? interesting...

My S weighs 2760 with everything in it and a nearly full tank. Without the spare and a 1/4 tank it weighed 2700lbs. I weigh ~130lbs, so add that to either of those weights.

The thing about R32s is they're very similar to S2ks in one respect: some drivers actually take the time to learn how to drive the frikkin car, and most do not. That's why in 1/4 mile contests you see some R32s and S2ks doing mid 13's with simple mods (chip, intake) and most of them doing high 14's or slower) from the drivers just not knowing how to launch or shift.

R32 really isn't that heavy btw... for an AWD, it's a lightweight, and it's only a couple hundred pounds more than an S2k... weighed mine in street trim at 3254 lbs, race trim at 3120 lbs.

R32s do have a mean torque curve and great gearing... but it's a totally different feel driving it compared to an S2k. Mine is a hot hatch, basically a hopped up grocery getter sleeper. S2k is a true sports car, much more raw feeling.
I own both an S2 and an R32. For the record, the S2000 is far easier to drive.

Agreed!!! When first fired up, R32s growl like very few cars I've heard. Additionally, the Koenig racing seats are infinitely nicer than our Recaros.

Agreed. S2k is a much more responsive car to drive. I don't know about easier though... there's enough part throttle torque in the R32 that it makes casual daily driving effortless. I think I'd agree that the S2k is easier to drive *fast*.

I guess I should amend my previous statement. In daily driving (aka my morning commute to work) the R32 is easier to drive (the clutch is much lighter, no heat soak probs), however, its gearbox is infinitely less precise and is far easier to stall than the S.
