Default S2000 vs. a VTEC THIS Civic

Yup I pull up to a light and so does this green honda civic. I look at it and see the VTEC sticker on the so I assume its an SI. To my surprise its an DX civic and the sticker on the side says "VTEC ThIS"

So he looks at me laughing and revs and i hear his blow off valve. I am thinking wow someone is dumb enough to turbo a DX civic. So the light turns green and I launch from 7000rpms and take off. From the start i get a 1/2 car lead on him once i gained traction.

I continue to hear his blow off valve sound as he goes through the gears, but I am slowly pulling away from him. By the end of 3rd gear I am about 1.5 cars ahead and continuing to pull away. By the end of 4th I am 2.5 cars away, and by mid 5th gear(around 130mph) he is about 4 cars behind when he lets off.

I slowed down and let him catch up but he wouldnt get next to me again. Guess he's mad becuz i followed the directions on his sticker. i did VTEC THIS!

is it possible that he was not intercooled and could not really exploit the turbo? Or he might have been a low boost Greddy Kit.

errrrrr......that 's not to take away from your win.

That's a fast Civic. I have not run my Civic EX against my S nor have driven up to 130mph (my Civic is not capable of running to 130mph). So by 130mph the Civic should be a dot in the rear view mirror. but this Civic lost by only 4 car lengths? That's pretty good.
This "lowly" Civic would give most Mustang GT's and countless other cars (Boxsters, 3's series, even the new Z) a good run.

(I think my view is not with popular opinion but one should stand up for one's view)
