My friend has a lightning and is talking mad trash to people we both know that'll he stomp me. Haven't taking him up on a race b/c he modded out the wazoo. I guessing he's pulling high 12's to low 13's so i'm sure i'm outmatched but any time he wants to take it to a road course i'm game.

The Lightning is quick despite its weight and awesome aerodynamics.

A 2001 I believe has 8PSI, 380HP, and 450 ft lbs of torque. Rear tires are 295.

Popular Mechanics tested a 2000 (360hp) and ran a 13.62 at 101.xx, 0-60 in 5.3x. Not bad for nearly 4700 lbs.

It'll hang with you for quite awhile but you should start to pull on it. I played with one up to about 140ish and backed off.

that would make sense since stock lightning are speed limited to 120.
Stop with the ricer races to 140 against speed limited cars!

Stock S will have a difficult time with a Lightning.

Not saying it couldn't happen, but is there really a winner in a very close street race?

80-135mph at first he had a one car jump but I cought up and at 135 mph I was one car ahead

always race in Vtec and top up... I have lost a few over the past year with top down

Lightning are speed limited to 143 mph....

A stock Lightning vs a stock S2K...I put my money on the Lightning. High 13's to low 14's are common ET's for Lightnings. If it is cold enough...expect mid 13's.

My Lightning ran stock 13.91@102.5 mph @ 4850 lbs raceweight with 2.2 60's.

$1400 later and 150 lbs lighter I ran 12.61@112.8 mph with 1.9 60's.

93 octane, stock tires.

a member posted this video earlier this year.
his car is pretty sick and he has a lot of kills in the video. In 1 of the scenes, he comes up against what looks like a Lightning and gets smoked pretty badly. Do not under estimate detroit muscle in a straight line!

enjoy...
