1.18 vs. .93 g's... Any car that can pull over a G... that's some hairy stuff...

I have a downpayment riding on a laser blue Elise with sport package... I've test driven a couple and ran with one... and I could not keep up at any level... and I'm a not a shabby driver!
Put R-Compound tires on an S and it'll do 1.1g also.

so do you drive daily with track compounds on....?

The Elise's pulls over a g withOUT R's on...

So you could probably say next- "hey- if you dump a new intake, exhaust, and plenum in the car- and then remove the AC and some other dead weight- and maybe upgrade the suspension... we'd OWN the Elise on the Streets...!"

...but then you wouldn't be comparing apples to apples now would you? (stock for stock)

moral of the story- ANY car is comparable once modified.

Most trap speeds I've seen are in the 102-105 region..... a few are listed on dragtimes.com

http://www.dragtimes.com/results.php?carmo...earch+DragTimes

Also theres a Best Motoring video out there somewhere that features the S2000, Elise 111S, M3 CSL, Miata and SL55 AMG on the Tsukuba track...... the S2000 and Elise were VERY close on track...... in fact even out of the tight hairpin onto the long final straight the S2000 pulls away from the Elise.

If I can find a link to the vid I'll post it (the one I've got is called bm2004rwdbattle.mpg)
hey I actually forgot about that one...I might have it,
gatta check.

Btw, here is the Car and Driver article that pits the AP2 S2000 against the Elise, Caterham Superlight, Mark II, and MX5.

From the looks of it, I bet MOST S2k's can take that driver - 14.92 @ 93.61!
