I went for a drive with a buddy who bought one of these about 2 months ago. We only did one run in the straights, but I didn't want to post it here thinking I'd get flamed for doing straight line racing in an S vs an Elise. Kinda like taking a DH spec Mt. Bike on the Tour, right?

In 4 hours of driving we only did ONE straight run simply flooring it in 1st at 5mph (not in VTEC, no significant boost at that RPM for me) to 100mph.

I may have hit the gas a fraction of a second before, he passed me before the 1-2 shift and stayed ahead the entire time. Maybe by 100mph I was starting to reel him in. Very scientific, I know
I do have some pics, I'll post 'em when I get home.

His car cornered far better than the S. However, when it comes to cornering, I'll bet Schumaker in an S2000 could destroy most drivers in an Elise... know what I mean? Yes, the interior is spartan, as it should be in this sort of car. The CNC machined door hinges, and completely flat undercarriage are the sex!

Actually the the Toyota 2zz engine will easily put down 160-165 whp stock....mine did. With intake, exhaust, header, and tune it can easily see 180-184 whp. And most s2k's are dynoing at more of a 200-205 whp stock. Just FYI.
your right that's my bad...for a second there I forgot the motor made 190 hp. For some reason I thought it was making 170. Thankx for the correction.

HaHa...I just couldn't let my old GT-S engine get trodden on for a measly 140 whp

I saw an Elise driving one night (yellow with black strips and wheels) and he made a turn, literally NO body roll what so ever... So I tried to keep up with him around the turn... hahaha What a joke... Sweet car tho

Forget speed and acceleration..
the Elise is better (as a sports car on the track)
the S2000 is better (as a sports car on the road)

A few members of our club have elise, (120 hp and 160 hp)

0-60 mph lotus definitly wins but at 100 mhp is S2000 time.

At track? Elise wins
