Default s vs 350z

well this wasn't really a street encounter i was at one of our local tracks in maryland and i just happen to get lined up next to one...and remember this is my first time ever racing my s at the track..so i really dont know how to launch this thing yet..didnt want to launch at 7k and lose my differential so i started at a bogus 3500 the first time..long story short is i lost and had a crappy time here is what the time slips said

S2000 -- 350Z
R/T -- .990 (bad) -- .590
60 -- 2.144 -- 2.226
330 -- 6.175 -- 6.169
1/8 --9.412 -- 9.368
MPH -- 76.51 -- 77.80
1000 -- 12.157 -- 12.074
1/4 -- 14.488 -- 14.354
MPH -- 97.26 -- 99.50

i know didnt represent that well...still learning where to launch at...on a brighter note my next run i launched at 5200 or so and ran a 14.099 at 98.06mph the next run few more times at the track i'll figure how to launch her better and hopfully get very low 14 high 13..sorry for long post

No need to apologize. Looks like your second run was MUCH better. It is a really good time, especially since it's your first time out. Do you have any mods on your car?

what model year is your s2k?...i ran a 13.8 with a horrible alignment that costed me 2-3mph on trap speed and about .1 on my et when i was stock....my slip is posted somewhere on this site..launching try revving it up2 7500-8000 and kinda ease of the clutch...you should get 2-3 rotations of spining the tire then hook....good for 2.0 60 foot times

nice run! 14.4 is pretty good. iam pretty sure with some practice, you'll hit 13's. alot of 350z drivers hit mid-high 14's and some even in the 15's. i've driven my friends s2k many times and its pretty hard and tricky to launch. i have a 350z and i always race my friends s2k and its a drivers race. from a dig, it depends on who gets a better launch. but i usually lose. from a roll, i have a slight advantage, maybe 1/2-1 car. if i can have one more car, its will be a s2k.
