Well, last sat. I was out with my friends and they've always asked me to go "race" with them. Usually I'm hesitant but i guess I decided to go. Once I got there, the s2k pulled some heads and when i parked my friend comes up to me and said that some people wanted to race, but i had to race this "sleeper GTP" guy cuz he kept on talking crap, saying that the S2000 was pretty much slow in anything. So I beat him, from a stop launching at 3.4 rpm and shifting at 7.5 rpm. When I get back they're like "hey man your pretty much lined up for the night". I was like whatever. Anyways my next opponent was this M roadster. They told me that I better pull a miracle out of my ass. so anyways we go down, i rev it up to about 5 K, and went at but my launch sucked balls so pretty much we had to redo it. I launched at 5K, he was still in front of me. I shifted at redline. but that dude was gone. Afterwards, I parked next to him and asked him what he had in his car. he said intake, ecu, headers, exhaust, and NOS. althought he didn't spray. yea his ride was scary. Don't M roadsters run 13.2 stock? yea, silly me.

Why were you shifting at 7500rpm? Were you walking the first guy that bad that you didn't even try? I know the 315hp M roadsters are fast, but that is what BMW advertised at the crank right? SC s2ks are about 300+ rwhp. I don't know what all his mods add up to, but he should not have BLOWN you away. I don't know how restrictive the stock exhaust system is on M roadsters, but I don't think those mods would blow you out of the water like you say he did. Intake, exhaust, headers and ecu how much would that yield, I'm guessing maybe 25hp-40hp. Maybe he was also a better driver.

true that, oh yea i whacked the GTP really bad after my power band i was gone. but well he blew me away but it was only about 2 to 3 cars.

The quickest stock S54 M roadster (315hp, 01 and 02 year models) ran a 12.56. Given what the car is capable of, I'd say even a blown S2000 is going to need a great launch to beat one.

The 98-00 S52 M roadsters with 240hp are a bit slower, generally high 13 second cars.

all i know is an architect in my office building has an m roadster. 315hp silver and red. We park our cars next to each other all the time. We've played several times too . He's never beaten me. Your friend was either built more than he said or he did hit the button.

well later that night he ran my friend with this "godly" LS1 Trans Am. low 12s. he hung with him pretty good until my friend pulled and pulled. and the LS1 was gone. so i guess he had more stuff that he said... what a liar = still pretty nice though.

Well considering a stock M roadster is capable of 12s and he had all the bolt ons, that sounds about right.

Dont know of too many S/C cars w/o other mods lke gears or smaller pulley running 12s.

What car do you have? Please don't reply with a stock S2000.

Regarding the listed mod's for the S54 roadster. In reality what he has done might have given him five or ten horsepower (aside from the NOS). The reality is that despite some of the claims (Dinan and conforti lies and what not) the extra horsepower is just not there right now.
