S/C S2K vs. BMW M5
Ran against an M5 last night. Always wanted to run one, but never had the right opportunity until last night.
At a light on Jamboree (Irvine) near the old Marine Base. I followed the M5 off the 405, on the way home, for about 2 miles before lining up at the light. Keep in mind that this particular section of Jamboree is 4 lanes wide and no lights for about 2 miles. We both roll off the light, and at about 10 mph, he nails it and I follow suit. It was dead even and neither of us could pull on each other. He shut down at about 95 mph because we were approaching a slight bend in the road, I just went through the bend and shut down at about 110 mph. We gave each other a thumbs up as he passed by.

if you were dead even with the m5, the the person in the m5 was either:
1. dont know how to drive a 6 speed stick
2. purposely let you win to make you feel good
3. a dumbass
sometimes when i race Civics or Integras. i let them win just so they can make themselves feel better I LOVE IT

i raced a stock M5 with my stock Z06, and i could only beat him by about maybe 1 1/2 cars max. a good m5 driver should be able to do very low 13's and thats because they loose major traction like me in my Z06 during the launch. hard to get my car to get a grip at first.

M5s are quick, but they're also heavy as hell. M5s are still low 13 sec cars, but from a roll, a supercharged S2000 will hang.
cvuplay, where do you live? I always love taking that Jamboree road pretty fast. If you live in the Northwood area, do you ever see that white S2k with hard top and bronze 17'' mugen rims? Also, I saw a brand new M5 rollin around, and there's also a Maroon colored M5 always parked on my street, in Irvine.
Anyways, nice run with the M5.

A bone stock S2 with a decent drive runs 13.6-13.9 at about 104-106 mph and you don't think that adding a supercharger (100 hp) will put it at least even with an M5... HELLO! My guess is that a supercharged S2 should be able to pull an M5... maybe not about 120 mph or so but in the 60-120 mph range the S2 should pull.
