ran a H22 civic hatch
I was out cruisin' again and lined up with a white civic hatch that sounded pretty mean. It looked nice and clean.....nice wheels, nice exhaust (didn't look like the average chrome coffee can), and it just looked nice. The guy said he had a H22 swap done and it sounded like all the bolt-ons too. We didn't have any official "3 honk" races, we just played around for a bit. When we raced from a dig, I launched at too high a rpm and just sat there and spun while he drove off. We went from a roll at about 40 and I pulled ok. We only got to 70 or so....like I said, we just played around a bit. His car was definitely quick, looked and sounded good. How much hp should a well tuned H22 be putting down, and how much do those hatches weigh? I imagine with a good suspension setup, those would be a lot of fun on a course. Very cool ride. One of the few tastefully done civics I've ever seen around here.

torque doesn't mean anything
Once your in vtec its more about HP. If you launch it right your in vtec. If your in the right gear, your in vtec. Torque is overrated
Eithor way nice kill and nice death

A bolt on h22 will put down anywhere from 160whp to 175whp (heavily dependant on what header he has, trust me on this.) and the weigh of the hatch depends on the generation. The 92-95 hatches weigh 2000-2300lbs depending on trim. H22+Hatch = Very potent combination.
I was very close to building an h22 hatch, but decided to get an s2k instead. (Which was probably the wiser decision.)

i remember a vid i saw a while back looking at three eg hatches, the b16 was beat by an ap1, the b18 just slightly beat and the h22 pulled on the s. I think the hatches were basic bolt ons and this was a rolling race, from 50mph?
