Ran a freakin Turbo Tercel tonight!! Saab 9-3 vs Turbo Tercel
#14
I was spanked by a dodge ram single cab short box once. He kept on me at every light. Finally I gave in because it the next stretch was empty.
Light goes green, all 4 of his tires peeled and he was gone like a rocket. My jaw dropped but it was one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
I pull up at the next light and he had a huge smile on his face. He had a v10 viper engine with a custom drive train. Just looked like a regular dodge ram to me.

My friend's shop here in Phoenix built a Toyota Paseo with the same motor configuration (Starlet turbo motor). The Paseo basically has the same drivetrain as the Tercel, except lighter. The Paseo was also running a 100 shot of NOS. Anyhow, he beat an H22 Civic hatch in the streets by about 3 cars. The hatch was a proven low 13-second runner on the track, from what I've heard.
Paseo had fuel problems which eventually blew his motor, which was then replaced by a worked version of his stock motor (pistons, rods, crank lowered compression) with the Starlet turbo (with higher boost, of course). The stock motor is a 1.6 liter while the starlet motor had 1.3. With this setup, dude has vids of him blowing a WS6 on the freeway, and same with a newer (not '03, obviously) Cobra.
The first time I saw the Paseo in my friend's shop, I laughed...until he told me all that he'd done to it. No rice on it, either.

Mine was a 2001 9-3, which is a totally different car than the new 2003 9-3.
I now have a 350Z.
This thread should be renamed to "The attack of the sleepers!" .

NEVERMIND!!! You were in your Saab. I saw that you posted this in July before the Z even came out. This thread shouldn't be near the top of the forum. Let it go by not replying to it.
