I saw the results of a guy who missed 2nd gear in a new at the time Fiat 124.
The transmission had various sized drain holes all over it. All 4 pistons were level with the top of the block and extra drain holes were on the side of the block. He hit 10000 rpm as registered on the stuck tacometer just before it stopped.
