Racing a Porche through the rockies!
I drove from Vancouver to Calgary the other day. Came a across a 2005 (I know the year cause we pulled over and chatted for a bit) Porche 997 Careera. Yep the driving was so competitive that he pulled over to chat. He asked me what I had "in that thing".. He was very impressed with the 2000!
I paced him all the way into Calgary. We took turns with the lead.. I gave him the respect that a Porche deserves.. but the only time he really had me was on a straight away goin uphill!. He caught me down around 4000 to 5000 rpms a couple of times too.
I pushed the 2000 to 234 kmh at 7500 rpms in sixth. Hardest I've ever driven it. She had more in her.. but we were running out of road.
Now I realize that its not the autobahn and that we had to slow down for other cars and single lane traffic, and that he would have killed me if we had more space.. but man what a rush..
and to pace a beautiful car like that was amazing!
I took a picture of the Porche too!
Once again... the 2000 is the most sports car you can buy for the money. Period!

F&F = Fast & the Furious, where the kid refers to the S2000 as the "Honda 2000."
Nice race. The S2000 (especially modified) is one of the best handlers out on the market. It doesn't surprise me that you were able to keep up in the twisties. When I was up at Willowsprings We were in an M3 & a 996 Carrera & a driver in an S2000 was pretty hard on our ass. On the tight & twisties I have no doubt that the S2000 can keep up.
