Default Raced a Turbo Jetta

My buddy has a 2003 jetta with 13 psi boost, turbo back exhaust and intake. I don't like to street race but we found a safe spot and went at it. I couldn't believe the kind of pull that jetta has. I ended up beating him by a car to a car and a half 2 times. It was really fun. I think he has the boost turned up but I'm not sure.

hes only running 13 psi of boost? you should of destroyed him haha, by like 4 or 5 car lenghts, especially if hes on the stock turbo. My 1.8t audi was running 23 pounds of boost and i would loose to bolt on s2ks by about 2 car lengths.

13 psi is like stock boost on those things. He needs GIAC or APR help. And 23 psi is too high, you'll get a torque boost down low, but will quickly run out of steam when the car pulls timing from super high IAT's. 20-21 psi is about the reasonable limit.

i pulled on a chipped (according to the driver) my06 golf GTI. initially he had a 2-3 car lead (i was behind him in the traffic light and he just peeled out from nowhere i decided to give chase) then i reeled him in slowly until I was already a fender ahead until we had to lift. i was suprised on how these things (VW golfs etc...) pull. the GTI driver was a cool guy, he wasn't sore about being pulled by an s2000.

Yeah must be stock boost but still it had some pull. He said if he chips it he can get around 50 more hp. I don't know what kind of chip it is but if so he will probably be able to pull ahead.

big difference between an *AWD/3500lb* car and a *FWD/2950lb* car; especially from a roll.

My old 2001 S4 was running only 8lbs of boost at stock. It felt as fast if not faster than my S2K. With the chip, it bumped it to 15-17 psi. Miss my old car.
