Default Pulled on a 2008 VW GTI DSG

It was brand new silver with no plates. I didn't see a R32 on the back anywhere, so I'm pretty sure this was an 08 GTI DSG.

I was coming form behind and when I got near him, he down shifted and gunned it (this was before I actually chased him). We were coming up to a red light, and I knew it was about to change so I downshifted into 2nd gear from 3rd. And as the light changed I was a couple feet from his back bumper in the lane to his left.

I started in 2nd at around 28-30 mph and my front bumper was a couple feet behind his back bumper. By the time I hit 68-70 mph, his front bumper was either at my back bumper or a couple feet behind it. I pulled on him pretty hard in 2nd and 3rd gear.

I would of keep going but this was in a 45 mph zone, and I don't need a ticket. I would of loved to see if he would of came back though. Of course when I stopped he kept going, but don't worry I made sure he saw my brake lights lol. I gave him a thumbs up when he was at the light(left turn) and I drove straight.

I know it's probably a drivers race with this match up, but I bet the guy just got it and was new to it or something.

I'm 100% stock with a hardtop.

maybe i'm late to the 08 GTI party or something, but a driver's race? i thought these things are a driver's race with a stock rsx-s, which the s2000 when well driven can obliterate?

good kill in any event

Honestly i don't know lol, I just googled some 1/4 mile times and got a 14.2, so I figured that's right around a stock s2k. But if they are only as fast as a RSX-S, then my pull makes more sense then.

I don't think a stock GTI is gonna be hanging with an S2000. You've got a 40hp advantage and are 400lbs lighter. I've got a friend w/ a stage 2 GTI, intake, exhaust, FMIC, and a couple other things and he runs 14.0 at 98.
