people sometimes miss a shift..like they dont get it into gear when their nervous...i used to have a problem w/ my 2nd to 3rd while racing..i'd get to nervous or something or too anxious and i'd try slamming it into 3rd but it wouldnt go in and i'd hit the revlimiter while in neutral....

you can easily miss 2nd because sometimes you pull the gear back too fast and not yet put the clutch in. I've had my tranny replaced 2 times because it was grinding 2nd and 3rd. The syncros were gone. i had to wait like 10 seconds before i could put it in gear or else it would grind.
