Yesterday, while heading to a business diner, I came across a new Z that actually wanted to play. I was really bummed because I had about 150lbs worth of computer equipment in my car as well as my bag of golf clubs. I figured I would play a bit anyway. We were on a stretch of highway with REALLY bad traffic but that has stop lights. I got behind him at one light with no-one in front of him. At the light, we hit it and he pulled a half car initially and then stopped the pull. Unfortunately as I hit second, I missed the shift and lost another 1.5 cars right away. He heard me miss and let off. Then we got off the highway onto a couple backroads that were still a bit busy. At a break in traffic we hit it from a roll @ 35mph. He pulled a total of 1/4 cars through second and third. We then did a 20mph shot and again, not much more than 1/3 of a car all the way through the end of third. I was very pleased with the results as I know that if I dumped the 150-200lbs worth of weight, I might have been pulling a bit on him.

nice work.. s2000 has a nice weight advantage, but as you stated in your post you lost some of that with the golf clubs and computer equipment in your car.

I have a question... how do you miss 1st to 2nd shift? For me, I just grab the shift knob, push in the clutch, slam it back pulling a little to the left, and let out the clutch.... Are you actually missing the gate? Or is the clutch slipping? or what? I'm only 16, and I've never dragged, but I've wound it up to 9k a few times and I've never had this problem...
