I image that on a road like the Dragon (www.tailofthedragon.com/maps/postermap2003.gif) an S would be faster around the tight corners, but on the long sweepers of the Cherohala (www.tailofthedragon.com/cherohala.html) the Viper would run away & hide.
Light weight, quick steering, great shifting & great brakes make the S excel in tight corners & auto X's.

Relax, guys! He seems and looks like a nice guy. At first, he seemed like a jackass, but afterwards, he seems nice and calm.
He and the rest of those assclowns on that forum need to learn that the S2000, much like a Boxster, is not a drag-racing monster like much more powerful V10 and V8 muscle cars. It is a small, graceful roadster with a small, responsive engine.
As for the domestic assclowns who call imports, especially Japanese, ricers, they are just a bunch of ignorant, prejudicial hicks.

Having driven a GTS before, I still wouldn't trade my S for one for a number of reasons. Yes, the car is damn fast in a straight line and handles pretty well for a car slingin' that much weight, but it just feels cheap. And I can't stand the shifter, even though you don't really have to roll through the gates that much to get the car moving like you would in the S. It's a nice ride....mean...but pretty unrefined. I'm glad I have what I have.
