Depends where you live. I've seen the houses the Highway Patrol (dope runners) live in. The other day I was in a neighbor hood where everything is well over a million in the current economy and a squad car came out of the garage in time to start their shift.
The other cars in the driveway suggested it was a drug related house (all the thugs are the same here). It's possible he was only there for pick up or delivery and needed to use the garage. But with all the house flipping and crazy loans. I doubt there is much questioned based off comfort of life style. And I've been in other neighborhoods where police live beyond their means.
Who knows he may have family money, married into, won or was paid a settlement. I doubt some guy who is not would claim to be a cop for a street side pissing match. Either way the dudes a douche.

Statistics about cop salaries are grosely under published, the numbers we see are significantly below what they actually make. Not only that but chizzling, drug activities, stealing and all the other methods they use to bump that check well over 100k mark.
You wonder why they are so desparate to become NARCs, that they would sell both nuts (if they had any) its because this scenario: They make a big drug bust and say its 8 cops, they find 10 million but only report 8million... guess where that other 2mil went?? Cops word agaisnt a drug dealer, yaaaa judge is really gonna believe that shit after the cops give the judge his cut too.
I do believe pigs have expensive cars... police repos? But if this dude was a cop you probably wouldhave been shot or beaten.

CHP salary: A GT2 is easy on CHP salary these days....sadly.
Give her a couple of seconds to load. I think I went 7-8 pages deep and the lowest salary I saw was around 178k for a patrol officer.
Sergent? Now your talking real money at quarter million a year. Just think in four years a CHP has earned a million dollars. Not bad.
