eh, just going of my observations... never heard anything about overheating and maybe he just didnt have enough fluid.. who knows. its just to many different variables. you cant just ask one person... now if this was a common occurrence, then i can see where your coming from.

Are the RX-8's really that slow in a straight line?

I've never encountered one on the street myself but i did a bit of research on the cars performance and the results i find seem to indicate around 5.8 seconds for the 0-60 and about 14.4-14.5 for the 1/4 mile.

If these stats are accurate, i would expect a bit closer of a race between an rx-8 and an s2000 than what the stories on this forum indicate.

Haha, i was just going to say the same thing. Everything good you guys say about the rx8 he says the exact opposite EXCEPT that it does handle good in the turns. But the s will easily walk away and get 3 times better mileage AND not overheat

From what ive been hearing, he wants to come back to the s2k world.
This is true. Also just look at the RX-8 forums and all the problems those owners are talking about.

I really enjoyed driving the RX-8. I like the exterior, interior, handling, shifting is smooth. The engine is a little weak but has a different feel to it. Overall I was impressed but not as impressed as the S2000. Obviously I ended with the S2K but the RX-8 isn't as bad as you guys are saying. I liked it better than the 350z.

RX8's are great looking cars IMO, but if they're a little under powered, then a simple Greddy bolt on turbo kit will address that problem.
