Default MY07 vs RX-8 on the 95

Just got home from a buddy's house, but on the way back I run across this RX-8. My friend lives on the other side of the Vegas valley so I was moving at a pretty good pace. There was an RX-8 (silver) in the far left lane going about 65 mph. With the distance I had to travel back home I figure even 5mph makes a bit of a difference so I pass him up at about 70 and get on into the left lane. Somewhere between 95 and Eastern exit and the 95 / 15 junction, I guess this guy took offense cause he was on me like white on rice. This is also the point where the freeway is nice and new , smooth and freshly paved road, so I try to pull away from him a bit just cause I was annoyed at being tailgated on a deserted freeway at 1AM.

This continues until we are both traveling at 90+ mph at which point hes really egging me on. So in 6th gear I am really pushing this car harder than I have since I bought it (back at the end of Jan.). We got to about 114mph side by side, but having been traveling this fast for a few exits now we caught up to other traffic, and it just so happens that there was a car blocking his path and he couldn't pull in front of me at all to pass. A few exits later off of Summerlin Parkway and Durango he finally got off of my case ( just couldn't pass ) and kept on keepin on further down Summerlin Parkway.

It was quite a rush, but I dont know if that came from the pressure he was putting on me or the thought of getting arrested/dying in the car I haven't owned more than a month.

Anyone else have an encounter in Las Vegas with a Silver all stock RX-8?

Also, Thoughts...

Be careful out there; things can go wrong really fast at that speed and you can't trust the other guy.

Maybe he was drafting you to save on his horrible gas mileage until he could fill up again!

...actually the rx-8 gets pretty good gas mileage compared to the s2k and compared to its HP numbers...

chances are he got off the highway cause his retardery motor over heated or gravity finally caught up with the weight of his car.

No, but if i did, I'd put a football field on him by 120mph.
