I actually went to try and drive one yesterday and they didnt have any in stock. They said they will be getting some in next week. they had to order some from the LA area which is about 4hrs away from that dealership

It always cracks me up when I go to a 'street racing' forum and see people who bag on posters for street racing...makes me wonder who the 'stupid' one really is. Street racing is wrong...duh, but most of us here do it so don't come to a forum dedicated to that very thing expecting to find something else. My .02 is that stock or near it EVO's seem to be turds on the big end...I usually spank them pretty good anything over 80mph in my M. AWD cars generally aren't as strong at high speed roll ons.

Yeah well, compared to an evo, S's are turds from a dig. Seeing as we are now both wasting our own and everyone elses time stating the obvious, a $200 mod will have the evo beating a stock S from any speed. Seems to me if you spend an extra 3K on your evo getting a sunroof, leather etc, a $200 reflash should be worthwhile
If you go dollar for dollar on mods, S vs evo, the S will always lose, even FI.
I suppose lambos are turds at roll ons aswell, cause they are AWD too

I've run and beat EVO with exhaust, as well as another evo with exhaust, intercooler, blow off valve, rims, carbon fiber body pieces, who knows what else.
So it really does depend on the car geting the right mods, and how those mods effect performence. I know for a fact the evo will still need more then just exhaust to beat me. although I cannot say that about the evo9

what your saying is very true, but it depends on what the mod is also...

Exhaust? What catback or TBE?
BOV...does nothing
Not trying to be a smartass, but I'll keep my stock IC until its no longer usefull. Then again when I get water injection, It wont matter I can always run a stock fmic and be fine even with a turbo upgrade.
HvRRZ...Your right though, it does take the right mix of mods. My buddy had an HKS Intake, TBE and MBC and thought he was faster than me. We had never run, so I didnt know. I seen him pull a 350 on the freeway pretty good, so I was like man he's pretty quick. Well one night we ran 3 wide my Evo vs his 03 Evo and 03 Sti. Well at the time all I had was TBE and reflash and it got ugly for him, both me and the Sti put maybe 2-3 cars on him easily. After that he was like man I have to get an Ecu reflash

quik s2k: correct. the stock FMIC is ideal until you need to upgrade your turbo. it can efficently and easily handle anything up to 400whp. after that you need to upgrade
straight up just upgrading the FMIC and little to nothing else but bolt on's, you will see pressure drop.

Changing the intercooler piping actually helps increase power-see the Buschur power packs for example.
And of course it has to be the right mod. Heres how I see it for an 05
1. reflash (Works $700 if you can afford it, Dynoflash if you cant $200)-controlls boost fall off almost as well as MBC and is virtually undetectable by most dealers)>+20 whp
2. Full catless TBE ($550 Megan if you are on the cheap, too many to list if you have cash, but Buschur has proven gains for pretty cheap) ~+20 whp
3. Cams plus custom tune and dyno $1K ~30whp.
So you can go from 240 whp to >300 whp for 1.7K
And that is just for starters, on pump gas, at 21 psi.
For another couple of thousand $$$ you can be at 400whp which puts you firmly in lambo teritory (11's in the 1/4 and sub 4 sec 0-60 times) in terms of accel anyway.
Anyway, sorry to the S2000 owners for the evo blurb.
