I'm not sure what he was shifting at, but I could have sworn 7 was redline , I could be wrong.
For a stock 8, redline is 7, but fuel cut is 7.6k.

When going past 7k the stock turbo stops breathing and there is a 50whp decrease in power.

The butt dyno feels strong, but those who don't know about it, are just losing power.

I hope that helps some.

As I mentioned before nice runs...I my self typically shift at 7-7200 just force of habit, but my redline is 8k and believe me with cams it still pulls up top. One day I'll have to dyno it.

HvRRZ...If you were closer Id run you so you could see what cams do for an Evo lol, well that and a few other mods. Ive had mine up to 165 at 6800 rpm and pulling hard, my buddy in his new TL was falling back quick

you seem to think i have no clue what cams do to an evo...or how they are modded. You have to mch power with your mods, I wouldn't sand a chance the way i am now
I'd still run you for the hell of it though.

oh and my friend was shifting right after redline according to him.
