Yesterday was the funnest day yet in the S.

getting off the highway from work, cruisin down the street and pass an si, the hatchback recent one. He pulls up to me at a light maybe 5-10 blocks away from my street, he and his gf look at me, he nods at me, so i think we're going to race. I launch it and get up to redline in 3rd gear, and by the time i pull in front of my house, he is just reaching the street. So i don't know if he was even racing, thought he was.

Later I'm coming home from visiting some family, pull up to a stoplight, and see some kid with his lil girl in a bmw thats all lit up with bluelights inside, so i figure he's down to race, plus he's going pretty fast, turned onto the street i was driving on from a sidestreet. I catch up at the next light after going like 110. we get lined up 2 stoplights later he revs and spins his tires. i launch when it turns green, he is way behind and turning off the street by the time i'm shifting into second.

A couple of turns later, a kid in a mustang GT with clearlights, cleared out fronts is revving at me, going fast past me then slowing down. so i figure he's down to race. There was a car in front of me in my lane, so i wait till we get to a three lane street, he follows me, I'm in the middle lane he is in the right lane, and it's all clear, I'm a car ahead of him, so i keep it in first right at 6k RPM, till he pulls up next to me. We look at each other, and as soon he goes, i punch it. When I'm shifting into 3rd he slams on his brakes (he's way behind) and turns off onto a sidestreet.

I thought all three cars were racing, but maybe only the GT was really trying??

had the same happen with an 04 model eclipse. Revved at me at a light but didn't do anything. Take it as a compliment, they just want to hear our engines scream.

Nice runs

I raced a guy at work that has a 98 stang with gears, exhaust and intake and I still pulled on him pretty easily. He was suprised to see the "little 4 banger" pull as hard as it does. Gave him a whole new respect for the S2K, granted he didn't know much about them until he met me, but he's in love with the S2K now.

that 94-98 4.6 outta the stang is one of the worst engines of all time. im 99% sure preludes would rock those stock for stock back in the day.

they pull hard on the hwy, but they are really heavy. from a dig a put 2-3 cars on a GT 6sp. the perks of working at a misty dealer!
