Yesterday evening a mustang pulled up next to me with all V6 badging. He told me to race for 200 bucks and I said okay, if he pops his hood. HE said no and I was like alright than its coo. And he was like alright than lets race for no money. I was like alright lets do it. We pulled up to an empty long stretch of road witha few other cars (mine and his friends)... We line up.. (My nitrous is activated and i had my 100 hp jet on)...We lined up my friend dropped his arms and we launch. Right afte ri drop the clutch and i see my RPM barely dropping i squeeze and stay above 8 from launch to 2nd... i look back and he stopped.. i reverse and was pissed cause i cant keep squeezing like that for no reason (of course he has no clue im squeezing). We line up again and i totally annihilate him off the line.... we finish the quarter and i was about 4-5 cars ahead of him..I pull up and he says alright now i would like to race your friends GT.. MY friend has a GT conv. with intake exhaust and chip.. they race and he kills my friends GT by at least 4 cars... so now i know its no stock V6 like the badging said.. he finally agreed to pop hood and its a GT with nitrous... he said he was "squezzing a small shot...100" i laughed.. small eh'... he couldnt believe i beat him because 10 minutes prior to racing he told me "Your friends mustang has a better change than your lol honda does".... he asked me to pop my hood and i agreed.. he couldnt find anything (Thanks to my local perf. shop)... So a "stock " S2000 beat a mustang GT w/100shot..... felt.. good.. next week i race stock 2001 Cobra.. what does everyone think?

Is the cobra you're gonna race an R? cuz those can do mid-high 12s. If it's not, I believe it does like low-mid 13s.

Good race.....kinda surprised that you beat him by 4-5 car lengths...seeing how stock for the stock the s2k and GT should be about equal in the 1/4.....I would guess that if the 01 cobra driver can drive he should be you as alot of them are turning ~13.5@105 in the quarter....should be an interesting race none the less....make sure you post results and good luck.

I have been trying to find a race with an s2k but have not yet succeeded at running into one to race at this time

You guys dont give enough props to "rustangs". I thought this was a pretty cival board where a bunch of good people came to talk about cars, but geez its just the same as all the other pissing match boards out there.......... And just FYI, my friend has a stock 2001 cobra: 1000 or so miles on the odo, it ran a 13.4 at 106, with about 11,000 on it with an intake and exhaust he hit a 13.1 at 108. I hope this guy you are racing with the "stock" cobra is a bud. Who knows he could have a nice stall converter setup or a cam, God knows. If you people are going to get into the drag talk you cant leave out the american muscle, I dont drive it.........but hey they are just as fun for their owners as our cars are for us.
