My S2k vs. 99M3
awsome race lemme say before i post the race....
my friend has a 99 M3 and we've always been meaning to race the cars, so we finally did.....its incredible on how the two cars are sooooo close in acceleration its amazing.... basically did 3 roll on races.... one in 2nd gear and two in third........the first race in 2nd i held my own and we kept neck and neck till 100 from about 40, then second race from 3rd gear about 60 we went till about 110 and he kinda got half a car length on me..........then finally our last race was incredible....started out in third gear in my 6200G rev........ took off and ended up going to about 125MPH...at about 115 he started inching by me, then at 125MPH he had about 1 car length or 3/4 c/l on me........ i think i couldve stayed right with him if i had shifted faster.... i made sure i didnt mis-shift cause i had a major problem when i did that last time........awsome race though
many more to come with the M
i got a new performance flywheel and clutch..... should that have made any acceleration differences from a roll on???
(besides that to my car...both our cars are 100% stock)

It's a driver's race against an E36 M3. Good job!

Good runs ....As for the flywheel...I could tell a little difference when I installed mine...It rev's much quicker, and add's a noticible pull vs the stock flywheel.

ya i think the e36 is faster though.....a lot faster downlow.....and i noticed mid range we're completely even, but then when we start going high speeds like above 110 he starts pulling.....

Just get some gears and you should pull fine if you are already even. Less than $1k installed. 8-16% gearing advantage over stock. Achievable top speed about the same for the 4.44s and about 135 for the 4.77s if I'm not mistaken. I really believe the 4.44 gears should have been original equipment for this car. Oh well, easy fix.
