Default my s2000 vs. my buddy's SLP camaro SS

Greetings all. My best friend has a 2002 camaro SS with the SLP intake and exhaust. It totals 345 crank HP. He is broken in at 7800 miles. I have an '02 S with k&n intake and spugen dual exhaust. We have been wanting to race but i have been delaying so i could put some miles on my car first. I don't drive it very often. I have had it 5 months and now have 1600 miles on it. Anyhow, i said fug it and said lets do it. I predicted before the race i would lose by about four car lengths and that is exactly what happened. First and second we were dead even. Come third he opened up a huge gap, about three to four cars. come fourth he quit any detectable pulling and the gap didn't change to 120 which is when we shut down. He was impressed with my four banger. We are going to rematch in a couple weeks when i get my toda header on. Moral of the story, on race an SS to 60 mph and you should be ok. ALSO, it is important to say i have not raced a regular SS before (minus the 20 hp due to the SLP mods) so i don't know how much smaller the gap would be.

Your buddy cant drive worth of crap if you were even in first and second...LS1 has a lot of torque, he should have pulled on ya from the begining, is his car auto btw, could also depend on gears...Anyways, not calling bs or anything, good race...

I am inclined to think that the Camaro should have beat the S2000 by more than four cars, but who knows if the guy let off a little once he had such a lead. Good race

Nice run. Did he have some tire spin? I would expect the Z to pull away earlier. I honestly am suprise you only lost by 4 car lengths. I guess "them little 4 cylinders" got alittle more top end then I thought.

to the guy who said he should have beat me to 60 mph, that is wrong...LS1's aren't faster than S's from 0 to 60....to the guy on wheel spin, yes we both spun some tire

Good race.

BTW, an SS is probably almost half a second faster from 0-60mph than an S2000, regardless if it's an A4 or M6.
