I hope so but I woudn't count it...I know about the M5 but the previous generation M5 did not offer an SMG option and the E46 M3 does. I think the M3 and M5 generally attract a different buyer. While I loved the E39 M5 I just thougt the M3 looked so much better. A large percentage of M3's in the US ARE SMG equipped and the percentage of total cars produced (for US Consumption) is on the rise. BMW has wanted to get away from offereing the manual for a couple of years to cut down on production costs so while I am hoping...I am not optimistic. The M3 truly is the greatest daily driver under about $80-90K and much better than MOST over $100K. It is comfortable, quick and handles pretty well and I know the stories but I've owned 2 E46 M3's and had no issues with either. Little stuff like trim pieces have been replaced but no mechanical issues. It's nice to have a car that makes you wanna fall asleep in traffic but quick enough to make a quick sprint to 160mph.
