My first kill story - '01 S2K vs '03 GT
After debating over the 350Z and S2000 for 3 months I made my decision this past Friday and bought an '01 S2000, white with red leather interior. Saturday my ex-gf who owns a Mustang had been trash talking all morning while we were studying, talking about how her V8 could kill my little "4 banger." I kept telling her I didn't want to race because I knew if I beat her she would be distraught. She's always telling all my friends who own imports that her car is bad ass and we will never beat her. Well after hearing her talk for an hour, I told her to put up or shut up and we pulled our cars out of the carage to go race. We raced 3 times..
1st race.. we went from about a 10mph roll, she jumped ahead but as soon as I hit vtec in first gear i passed her up and from there I pulled on her HARD in every single gear. We stopped at about 105mph. (She has an automatic) I looked over at her and she looked like her dog had just died. Hahahah
2nd race.. we were at a light and she wanted to go from a stop. I got a good launch and pulled ahead from the beginning. Looked back when I was at the top of third gear and she was atleast 6-7 car lengths behind me.
3rd race.. I was done beating her but she got the bright idea to start in 1st gear. We went from about a 10 mph roll again. She pulled ahead until I hit vtec in 1st gear again and from there it was all about the S2000. Beat her by about 3 car lengths again.
We got back to my apartment and the first thing she did was call her Dad and tell her she wanted to trade in her car for a S2000. Hahaha, I love imports Only downside to my new purchase, high car payments and insurance.. it's all worth it though. I went from a '96 Nissan 200SX (2-door sentra) to this S2000. I love driving it.. best decision I ever made.

Anyone know if a manual GT mustang could hang with a S2K? It seems to me like it should be close but I've never raced one or driven one, they sure do sound mean when they roll by though. Anyone here race someone in a manual GT stang 2001 or newer with a good driver?

The S2 is still slightly faster than a manual GT, but if you mess up even the smallest amount it can go the other way.. Don't know many people with stock mustangs though, so be careful who you choose your battles with..

One thing that I noticed was that he never had to shift, but in one of the straights, I was going from 2-3-4 (60-100mph). I'm assuming he was in 3rd the whole time (I'm not sure how Mustangs are geared).

Funny story!
I hate girls who talk trash. I like girls who are modest and don't talk like a damn garbage truck.
But anyway, I've raced a newer Mustang GT twice, beat both of them but not by as much as some have claimed on here. Once, I beat him by 1 car length, and the other by about 1 1/2 to 90mph.
