Although still torqueless the blower makes acceleration comparable. I use the LS1 as the benchmark for quick. Luckily, the GF has witnessed the benchmark from both sides of the equation. . .

Welcome to a cool V8 guy...I have met a lot that dog our cars due to the 4cyl japanese engine (some with stock LT1's had to remove their foot from their mouth ) I'm a huge fan of the LS1 T/A's....beautiful sound! Z06 will be my next car also, once the prices settle (heard they are charging excessive amounts over sticker).

BTW bought my S because it's about the closest thing to a street legal go cart (besides the elise which is just too bare bones)
Thanks for the welcome. Regarding Z06's, I am also a member on corvetteforum.com and have been tracking the prices. You can get 01 Z06's for ~$25-$28k and 02's for ~28-$32k. Just wait until the weather turns and the official release of the new Z06 though and there will be awesome deals on these cars. I think it's going to be a great opportunity in time to get an amazing performing sports car for an amazing price.

Regarding the S2k, it looks like a blast to drive. Like you said like a go-kart for the street. I have always liked the way they look from the direct front too, I like the way the fenders flare out. Driving around in a FI one must be an absolute rip.

just wondering... why do all t/a owners have such large front tires.. even a ferrari f430 has like 225's up front...
All SS, WS6, Firehawks comes with 275/40/17 tires (standard option), and other LS1 models had an option to upgrade their tires. It is decent sized tires, does well on the road courses and straight line.

Hmmm.. 13.3? What should a SC'd s2K with supporting mods and high boost run?

Yeah...I was refering to the new model's price guaging that is occurring. I think an 02 would be sufficient though (400 stock horses that can easily be bumped, so I may look into either new one or mod an old one)

Yeah and its not even about the factory horspower...it's the proven performance. 02-04 Z06's, bone stock have gone 11.7 in the 1/4 mile. Add in the fact that it's a world class handler, comfortable, damn nice looking and even gets decent gas mileage and you got yourself a heck of a ride for, what I'm thinking will only be mid 20's come winter time. Can't beat that!

Yeah thats what I was trying to find out. From what I found out on LS1tech.com it sounds like a good setup is definitely good for at least 12's. There's a guy over there with a turbo S2000 and I forget the numbers but I remember it was pretty fast. I think it trapped in the high 1-teens

Its very refreshing to see a down to earth V8 owner. I wish all muscle car owners were open-minded like this.
