This is easy...at 144 an '04 Carrera (doesn't matter if it's a C4 Cabrio Tip) has over 30mph left (even the tips top out over 170 mph). The S2000 has 6mph left??? Maybe 10mph if you want to be generous!!! If the Porsche wanted to walk away all he needs to do is push on the go pedal.....zero skill involved.

You said he stayed there for "10 seconds" and then slowed down. I'm guessing he's thinking......I'm on a public road........doing 140 plus.......this is really dumb.....I'll let him (i.e. You) go by.

At those speeds horsepower and aerodynamic drag drag are all that really matters (weight is a much smaller factor). The Carrera has more power and better aerodynamics.....how could he be trying???
