I'm in the fast lane doing about 75, he comes into the freeway and comes right next to me and after about 10 seconds floors it. I hesitated about couple of seconds and I shifted from 6 to 4 and punched it. He was pulled about 3 to 4 cars but when I shifted to 5th and hit the vtec I came up and was on his tail by the time I shifted to 6. I am on his ass at 144 and he is NOT pulling, after about 10 second, he changes lane and slows down and gives me thumbs up. My girlfriend was stunned that S2K kept up with the 911, now I don't know if he was pushing his car or not, but I think he was. and oh, my top was down.

I think the 04's are around 315 hp and 3100lbs. He should have beat u by a few cars IMO. Perhaps it was an auto?

Unless you have serious mods he just let off...

I know becuase I have raced S2000's in my 95 911 and I have no problems beating them.

he wasnt racing, where your climb to 150 is probably pretty slow unless you are boosted, he would keep climbing

Unless you're boosted, that car is considerably faster than yours. I'm just surprised you could even get to 144 mph with the top down. I think he was letting off the gas for you to catch up.

yes this is normal. no your 95 911 would not have sheets chance against my car.

310-330 hp + tractor underpinnings+horrible wasted energy paddle shift german gearbox+ idiot average driver, equals porsches are slow. (unless turboed or lightened)

oh yeah, im sure he wasnt racing at 144 mph, he was probably just checking his cruise control.

all these cars are near or just over 300 HP, and yet you all seem to think the porsche and bmw are driven by gods, and will beat anything on the planet. sorry, not gonna happen.
as for the LS1, im typing this to infuriate the ignorant old troll that will soon find his way to this thread. i was at yet another PSCA race this weekend. watching some of the USA's fastest door slammers. and there JUST happend to be a bracket class. and there JUST happend to be 5 LS1's there. ONE yes ONE broke a 13.97 at 102 mph. it had drag radials and was a stick. there were 2 autos and 3 sticks, competing for bracket money. ALL of them ALL 5 ran 14.2-13.97 pass after pass after pass. so you mean to tell me all 5 couldnt drive??? dont think so, bottom line none of them trapped over 100 mph. sorry gang, hate to break it to ya, LS1's dont drive to the track bone stock and click off 12s pass after pass like some of the rejected mag racers on here want you to think.
and the same goes for E46, and 996. once again, sorry for posting the truth, but it had to happen.

No speed limiter with tops down .. i pushed mine to 147 with my top down no problem . unless maybe its limited to 150's
And i love all the " you need a supercharger with a turbo with nitrous and a jet engine to keep up with a porsche ... " Oh wait we do have SC 's ..mine is an Adidas size 13 ... maybe thats why we go fast .. oh yeah also you wanna floor the gofastpedal , and stay in V tec , that really helps to move the car along quick .

I guess it would be interesting to see what bracket the ls1s were trying to run, possibly running slow brackets to be more consistent?
