Had a pleasing encounter with a 350z yesterday. I was leisurely driving along the lakefront in Milwaukee when a red 350z quickly pulled up in the left lane next to me. I looked over, and to match his driving, he had a cocky-look about him. He proceeded to drive aggressively a few cars lengths in front of me, trying to navigate around traffic. He eventually ended up in the right lane, and I shifted into the left... lurking behind. Through a couple stoplights, all traffic approached a two-lane on-ramp to a major freeway, but we were in front. I raced up to meet him at the ramp... I was in the left lane; he on the right. We had a green light, so as we rounded the turn onto the ramp, I shifted into first, and we both hit it hard.... I took my S2K up to redline and my shift bell sounded solid (youch... ok, a little too far into 9k)... we were neck-and-neck. I quickly shifted into second..... and we were neck-and-neck until I hit VTEC, when I started to pull away.... third gear quickly came, and I continued to pull away more.... it was a race to get ahead since there was a car coming up in his right lane. Well, by the time I was well into third gear, I was far enough ahead (maybe 2 car lengths) that luckily, as our two lanes merged into two more lanes on our left, he was able to easily get into my lane and pass the approaching car.

I then let off the gas. He waited behind - I suspect languishing in his defeat.

He sped past me a few moments later.

You may be right. My point was that by the time I was near the end of 2nd gear, I was pulling.

 

Sounds a tad dangerous, though accurate...

Had you raced further past 100mph, I think he would have eventually reeled you in. AT not withstanding..?

 

NavinRJohnson, have you got any mods?

 

Just the 17" SSR-GT1s. And I had a 1/4 tank of gas if that makes any difference.

 

wow impressive, i never thought a s2k would pull on a 350z specially on the highway/interstate.
