I think it's pretty funny to hear people talk about handling, suspension, and other similar attributes of a car, when they haven't even done any sort of motorsport. And then they compare it to another car! Of which they probably haven't driven either. Unbelievable.
Anyway, that Mustang video is hilarious! Why does he just decide to spin out at 2:30? Maybe he was still in the middle of correcting his line but he was "correcting" it for a long time. His equipment looks pretty top notch. Pay for a good instructor.
edit: Ah, I see. He was going around a cone. I guess he didn't see it until the last second, too.

I think that the first mistake is lumping older style GT's with the 2005 models. When I took one out for a test drive I was surprised at how decently it could handle. But it is also a mistake to think or say that it could hang with an S on a road track, but it's sheer seat of the pants acceleration and engine sound makes for a fun but completely different drive than that of the Honda. I still prefer the S as the handling definitely beats the Mustang hands down. If I was in the market for a 2+2 car, I would consider the GT. The bang for the buck can't be beat. The downside for me is I tend to hold vehicles for years and the GT's typically arent worth anything once they get over 4 years old. Just my opinion.

You can always add a MaximumMotorsports grip kit (sway bars, LCAs, springs, shocks, CC plates), panhard bar, bushings - and get the mustang closer to an S2000 in terms of track handling performance. I've modded two mustangs like this. Still, as you say, has a totally different feel - but the back seat room is nice.
Of course, once you upgrade the S2000 parts, you just moved it a notch above a modded mustang.
