17k is for the entire S2 package, which includes suspension/wheels, ext. 10-11 grand of it is motor work. And yes, that is 28 HP to the FLY.

no really, I see what you are saying, but we were talking HP per Liter.

um, German cars are not more efficient. They cost more, and get more power out of smaller displacements, but that hardly means they are more efficient. Quite the opposite, in fact. Efficient is getting the max amount of power out of a given volume of fuel, and as far as that goes, the LS engines are superior to German offerings, especially when mounted in a lighter car like a Corvette. And getting more power out of an LS engine is not a high-buck affair. Just because GM doesn't build the living piss out of the engine doesn't mean the engine is incapable of higher output. Face it, American V8s are superior to European offerings on pretty much every level - cost, efficiency, modability, etc.
that's a good one

It's the same marketing scam that gets people to pay near $60k for an M3 Coupe. The super high quality and very high level of German engineering and attention to detail that goes into the E46 M3 and it's wunderbar 333hp 3.2L inline six. haha..

you can get 17 fly on a z06 with an intake M3 mods are over priced. i think i saw a 3k exhaust for one of those and i see claims of little gains.

pakisho nice kill. stock z06's should rape even a stage 2 overpriced m3. there is no pussy juice in a z06 to rape a m3. all it needs is bolt ons.

M3 engines imo are already tuned to most of their max. like s2000s. put some shitz on and see little gains. american muscle put soem shits on see GAINS!!!

Ced what part of the southeast are you from?

The modded M3 has only bolt-ons too...
It's a shame marketers know how to price their products, based on what you drive and what they think your ability is to buy their products; and the products sell too...

The German engines are more efficient and well engineered and they hold their value.
Yes, they certainly appear that way.

Those numbers are less 2% of all the M3 made, plus BMW resolved the concern and extended the warranty to 6/100K... You can even get 6/100K free maintenance on the M3...

Chevy warranty is 3/36k and after that will it fall apart? But I guess it would be cheaper to have it fix though...

The BMW still holds its value better... Don't let me go to www.kbb.com

show me a car manufacturer that haven't had concerns.

but I can show you a manufacturer who doesn't take care of it customers.

Since you probably didn't read the ghastly details, I'll quote one:

Worse (for me anyway), approximately 10% to 15% or more 11/01 production cars have had engine failures.

Nice quality control.
