I'm sure the titanium headers save quite a bit in weight,
They aren't ti headers Fan...just flow better and relocate cats to a better spot I believe. If there are any ti headers for the M3 surely no mere mortal can afford them as the 'normal steel' Euro and after market headers are over $3K on the norm. I've been M3's w/software, exhaust, pulleys and intake when my car was bone stock...as we all know anything can happen on the street and driver skill counts for a lot. SMGII equipped M3's have an advantage over many cars on the road as it eliminates a great deal of driver error but you lose the off the line flexibility the manual provides. As for the Carrera...I have a buddy that has an 02 with some upgraded OEM exhaust and while it does out handle and out brake my M3 he can't keep up in straight line and the result is the same if we switch cars. It does not have the same power as the M3 especially under 100mph or so...after that I usually stop pulling on him. He also has an E39 M5 and that puts a whoopin on his 996 in a straight line.

You're the little kid who doesn't know reality from magazines or fantasies. You mostly have no clues about cars other than your fantasized Nissans.

Oh, next time you quote someone, use the quotation marks, that's how the educated adults do it.

Sorry, I meant titanium exhaust, not headers, my bad. My experience with numerous M3's has been the same. Dead equal all the way to speed. IF you look at the stats the 911 is right there with the M3 in numerous road tests, in simple power to weight, tq. figures, etc.

Yeah I know and my experience with them has been more of a draw at higher speeds but they just don't seem to get out of the hole like the M3 does.

I usually hear the exact opposite because the engine is on the drive wheels. If you look at the current tests of the Corvette Z51 & 911 S the 911 S has a definite advantage from about 0-80 but afterwards (through sheer hp & torque) the Vette starts going by, and at the 1/4mi while the times are usually very similar the Vette traps a bit higher. On the test of the 911 TT X50 vs. the new Viper, given the 911's rear weight bias & AWD it blows the Viper away on launch and was able to keep that momentum to a 100 (the Viper does catch up at the end). The 911 is usually one of the best launching cars because of it's design.

I love that music in that video...I had a sprint w/ a Z06 back when I only had a CAI from a roll 3rd gear. Z06 owner was very impressed with the M3 performance. The Z06 (385 one) was modded with a CAI, SW...bringing over 405 and was said to one of the faster Z06s out there he pulled about 2 car lengths... too bad the cams weren't going... I'll have to get in touch with dude to do a comparison test and video...
