with you that 9's respond to mods better than almost any other car on the market, but stock a 9 is not an unbeatable car. bolt on s2 vs 9 is a close race. modded s2 vs 8's are going to be a better race, with the s2 pulling stock and lightly modded cars(8's).
my thoughts come from actual races i have had with many of my customers. i have ran 6 8's. 1 03, 4 05's, 1 04's. the 8's i have ran had reflashes, drop ins and catbacks. the 05's run much better than the 04 and belows. with said 05's i have ran door to door and have pulled 1/2 on some of the races.(from 40 rolls.)
now 9's on the other hand i have not had the same expierneces with. bone stock 9 and i can run door to door and i am just able to pull a fender as the speeds increase. with as little a drop in and TBE the game is over.

yeah it also depend on the driver. I sold my AP2 and pick up a 06 evo 9 mr. LOL ... Also you forgot the parts on the evo are MUCHHHHHHHH CHEAPER compair to the S2.

I'm a much bigger STi fan! You get more of the little things on the STi that I care about more then the EVO.
