what? there are 8 MR's with 6 speeds. from a roll a stock s2 can hang with/pull a stock 8. a 9 will walk all over a stock s2 from a roll from any speed. mivec makes for a wicked turbo car. i am a decently powerful NA s2 and i can pull maybe a car on a 9 from a roll, if you miss a shift or shift slow a 9 will leave even a modded s2 in the dust. the EVO is a wicked car. i know i am surrounded by them all day!

I have a friend who has an AP2 and he raced another friend of mine with an EV0 8 MR and the S2000 lost by 2 cars. So, I don't know what you guys are talking about.... I think a modded S2000 might have a better chance though. Put some gears in the S2k and then go chase after those EVO's and STi's

 

lost by 2 cars means nothing with out knowing the distance and speeds.

 

its also the differance between shifting speeds and alot of other variables. 8 vs. s2 is a well covered topic. stock vs stock 9 times out of 10 a s2 will pull a 8 from a roll.

 

S2 with gears + bolts on might have chance to beat a EVO 8. The evo 9 in other words, you need a some type of force Induction to keep up with the evo 9. It has been tested if you go to evo forum. The 9 with bolts on + flash will make 350-370whp. With cams it be close to 400whp, there people that turn up the boost on the evo 9 26psi + 100 octane made close to 400whp without cams.

In other words, no the S2 even with bolts on are no match for evo 9.

 

what do i know, i only work with evos all day. with you that 9's respond to mods better than almost any other car on the market, but stock a 9 is not an unbeatable car. bolt on s2 vs 9 is a close race. modded s2 vs 8's are going to be a better race, with the s2 pulling stock and lightly modded cars(8's).

my thoughts come from actual races i have had with many of my customers. i have ran 6 8's. 1 03, 4 05's, 1 04's. the 8's i have ran had reflashes, drop ins and catbacks. the 05's run much better than the 04 and belows. with said 05's i have ran door to door and have pulled 1/2 on some of the races.(from 40 rolls.)

now 9's on the other hand i have not had the same expierneces with. bone stock 9 and i can run door to door and i am just able to pull a fender as the speeds increase. with as little a drop in and TBE the game is over.

 

Honestly, stock s2000 has a very little chance of beating a stock evo8 or evo9 , espcially the 05' evo8 and the evo9's. My s2k feels sooo much slower (intake/testpipe/some weight redux) than my buddy's stock 05' Evo RS.

 

a STOCK s2k doesnt have much of a chance.
