i think i may know what your talking about the dip in speed when you went to 5th...
although i havent taken my Z up above 100 yet, i know of some owners, esp my neighbor of complaining in the upper gears a little loss aroun 5k rpms and then gains back again around 5800rpms or something. that may be why you pulled in 5th. man i really do miss the S, but my new Z is doin a good job of keeping me amused, i am sure it will only get better one i break the car in..
