well torque figures and A/F ratios aside, i was just making a point that even the most aggressive tunes currently available in conjunction with a FMIC and no other supporting mods is not making anywhere near 400whp...at least i haven't seen any dynos to prove me otherwise. have i seen 400+ whp/wtq dyno's of 135i's and 335i's? yes. but they all have FAR more done than just a tune and a FMIC.

I did say full exhaust and I have no need for cats as we have no emission testing here...I will dig up my dynos and link. My first mod was Procede V1.47 and I put down a lil over 340RWHP and that was with a completely stock exhaust...it was a gain of about 60RWHP over my stock dyno which is about the norm. Also with V3 of the Procede there is the ability to further tune if u have access to a dyno and the software/laptop which I do. Obviously the exhaust is crucial on a turbo car and I agree...a tune and FMIC alone will not yield a 400RWHP result.

Heading down Goldenwest towards PCH there was a brand spanking new 135i coming up on my right side and as he passed up i saw that he had no plates so it was a new 09 model. He slowed down to talk *yay* i talked to him for a second to see how many miles he had on it. he told me had 5k miles so it was broken in nicely and he wanted to go for a quickie so i followed he made the right turn onto pch i was about 3-4 cars behind him in the left lane (he was in right lane) i went to catch up to line up and i guess he hit it...even tho i was so far behind him trying to line it up but it didn't matter cuz i caught up to him at the end of 3rd gear. shifted into 4th got a car length ahead then shut down b4 i hit 120mph.
I have to call BS on this one.

I've owned my 135 for about a month now... and my s2k was no where near this in speed. A new 135 without an ECU upgrade will hit 0-60 in about 5.0 vs. 5.4 (maybe a 5.2 if well launced s2k). Still... in the top end... there is no way you pulled on him that easily.

My guess is he really was not on it.

Add the ECU upgrade (like the juice box 3 which I will be getting this week) and you are looking at 380hp at the wheels. Better hp to weight ratio then the e92 M3, c6 z51 vette, ect...

That car will turn a 13.4-13.5 sec quarter mile so not to shabby. They are quicker than a n/a S. Considering your pushing 380whp, it is no wonder you killed him. You are likely at 12.5 sec quarter.

Nice kill though...make a vid will ya. I am probably going the SOS supercharger route at 10psi so I would love to see an acceleration video of your car.
nevermind... did not know this. In this case- good kill

wat bout ur sti?

I heard with jsut downpipes and exhaust with a retune those 335's get close to 400 hp? is that true?!

and i'm guessing it would be about the same for the 135 as well :I
you need an oil cooler upgrade as well. The Turbo's can run up to about 15psi with a good ECU mod... *(which is amazing that you can get about 400hp at the wheels for $450). However, if you add a better downpipe, cold air, and exhaust... you can get 440 or so. The problem being- all of the above increase oil temp big time and cause f up your turbos.
